Seat Leon Cupra R

Monday, April 27th, 2009

It really was a horrible morning to be out detailing, luckily the customer had dropped the car off the night before so it had been parked up safe in the detailing bay away form the weather!

When we saw this particular car for its original inspection we were met with a mix of things, it had been detailed before by another detailer, had some curious paint repair work and was looking rather dirty and unloved. A thorough going over with the PTG confirmed our thoughts about certain areas being resprayed, this was going to be an interesting detail!

A full wash including a foaming with some strong APC ensured any previous protection and as many contaminents were removed quickly, a claying and covering in tardis revealed not much in the way of bonded contaminents apart from on the rear where tar spatter was quite bad.

Heritage Wax….First impressions and Sample Test

Friday, April 24th, 2009

I was lucky enough to be on the list of the chosen few who were able to get a sneak peak at this new liquid wax.

Just from the off, I want to make it clear that this is an honest and independent review – no manufacturers were held to ransom before writing this post (although more free bottles would be nice…but more on that later!)

So…on with the review.

Clio Sport Paintwork Correction

Sunday, April 19th, 2009

It was a bright but cold morning at Midlands Detailing Headquarters when the Clio arrived for paintwork correction. Following a hectic few weeks of corrections and protections we were looking forward to this small but perfectly formed motor coming in for the Midlands Detailing touch.

As time is always tight we cracked on with the wash stage, the foam lance making light work of the traffic film and road grime that was on the car.

Focus ST Paintwork Correction

Sunday, April 5th, 2009

It was a strange day at Midlands Detailing Towers.

The recently purchased Focus ST arrived with us before 8am on a glorious April morning, the sun was breaking through a damp and overcast night with promise of 15 degree temperatures and straightforward paint correction….and only one of the hopes came true….

The initial inspection a few weeks prior to the booking showed straightforward paintwork correction and the blending in of a few stone chips – just another day we cheered as we dreamt of an ice cold beer in the pub that evening.

BMW X5 Paint Protection

Friday, April 3rd, 2009

Following a rather busy few weeks at Midlands Detailing I’ve decided to do a quick write up on a paint protection detail we did on a BMW X5.

The car came in and wasn’t overly dirty but was suffering terribly in two particular areas, the bonnet had a range of quite deep stone chips and the high gloss trim on the B and C pillars was far from high gloss!
