So, where do I start with this write up…
Midlands Detailing have been contacted about working on a rather unique display piece. The piece is currently part of a developing Aerospace and Technology centre that benefits Air Cadets in the Staffordshire Wing area.
The centre has just had a major refurb and the Phantom was suffering from some serious dust coverage but also some more permanent staining on the nose cone from its previous place of retirement.
Here at Midlands Detailing we don’t like to shy away from a challenge so we turned up on a nice spring day to be greeted with what can only be decribed as a mammoth task.
Here are some befores…

It’s been a long time since we’ve added a write up on here, various holidays and jobs taking up a lot of our time! But here at Midlands Detailing we’re committed to communicating what we are up to with the public. This being the first job of 2010 on the 3rd of Jan we thought what better time to continue what we started in 2009!
This MG ZS was a customer from the Rover Tech website and came to us feeling a little sorry for itself. It’s a bit of an on going project for the owner after it’s recent 2.0 Turbo conversion and then having various other mods added to it.
From the pictures below you can see the sort of condition the car was in:

There has been a distinct lack of write-ups recently for Midlands Detailing and we apologise for this but spare time has been hard to come by! We’re having a busier period than normal at this time of year and would like to thank all of our customers for that.
This car we thought deserved a write up.

Here at Midlands Detailing we’re not fans of believing the hype that can often surround a product so we always try things out before using them on customers cars.
We’ve heard and seen good things lately about the blackfire range of products so have got our hands on the Blackfire Wet Ice Over Fire Shine Kit which contains a good helping of their products including a long life sealant, some carnuba wax and a spray sealant. To add to this we also have the Blackfire Gloss Enhancing Polish.

The Audi A4 DTM is a limited edition model that celebrates Audi winning all three DTM titles. With a power increase to 220 bhp from its 2.0 TFSI engine it delivers on the power front, with the extra carbon fibre parts making it stick out from the crowd of fleet A4′s on the motorway.
This particular car had seen quite a bit of motorway travel and was showing signs of general wear and tear, nothing that we couldn’t address!

It was a bright but cold morning at Midlands Detailing Headquarters when the Clio arrived for paintwork correction. Following a hectic few weeks of corrections and protections we were looking forward to this small but perfectly formed motor coming in for the Midlands Detailing touch.
As time is always tight we cracked on with the wash stage, the foam lance making light work of the traffic film and road grime that was on the car.

Following a rather busy few weeks at Midlands Detailing I’ve decided to do a quick write up on a paint protection detail we did on a BMW X5.
The car came in and wasn’t overly dirty but was suffering terribly in two particular areas, the bonnet had a range of quite deep stone chips and the high gloss trim on the B and C pillars was far from high gloss!

I must admit to having a soft spot for BMW’s M Cars, in particular the E46 M3 Coupe so I was delighted when Tim contacted us about doing some work on his.
When we inspected the car we were impressed with how clean the car was, Tim has spent some time claying it and working on the wheels and tailpipes already but was struggling to get the hard BMW paint anywhere near the level of perfection he wanted. This is where we could help.
The following Saturday Tim dropped the M3 off at the detailing bay, for an idea of what we were to contend with here is a before shot:

It seems he is quite the detailer (although we might have to send him a wash mitt so he can throw away the sponge!)

A bit of background
The car was recently purchased and in excellent order all round. The car had been cared for in as much as it had seen an automatic car wash regularly and the paint was heavily swirled. Paint readings were all consistent and even across the car with no areas needing special attention.
